Meet Dr. Gil
Dr. Gil Kentof, originally from Jacksonville, Fla. completed his undergraduate studies at Fla., Jr. College in Jacksonville. He then earned his doctorate degree from Life Chiropractic College in Atlanta, Ga., in 1989. He then started his practice, Back Pain Chiropractic (now the Dr. Gil Center for Back, Neck, and Chronic Pain Relief) in 1990 and has grown it into the successful practice it is today. Dr. Kentof is also a member of the TN Chiropractic Association.
Dr. Kentof constantly strives to improve and update his knowledge in the field of chiropractic and related studies. He continually strengthens his understanding of diagnosis and treatment of spine and joint related disorders by reading research and attending post graduate seminars on subjects such as whiplash, spinal trauma, nutrition, radiology and treatment of disc disorders. He is also the featured chiropractor on Fox 17 “TN Mornings” with Kelly Sutton and Charlie Chase. Dr. Kentof has also appeared numerous times on Channel 5’s “Talk of the Town”, WSMV Channel 4’s “More At Midday” and can be heard on WTN 99.7 “Ask The Expert” show every other Saturday from 1-3 p.m.
As for chiropractic techniques, Dr. Gil is highly trained. He is proficient in diversified technique, Thompson Drop Table, Flexion Distraction, Activator, and Toggle Recoil. He is also certified in spinal decompression therapy with the Kennedy Technique, and was among the first physicians in the state of Tn to offer this technology to his patients. Dr. Kentof treats many families and patients with disc problems and his desire to help those in pain and genuine concern for his patients are qualities that impress and endear his patients to him, building loyalty and trust.
His interests outside of chiropractic include most outdoor activities such as camping, hiking, traveling, scuba diving and falconry, which is the sport of training and hunting with birds of prey. If you ever want to learn about some of Dr. Gil’s adventures, you should ask him when you come in!
