CONTOUR LIGHT THERAPY
Two Powerful and Effective Frequencies
Light therapy has been around for years, used to treat a wide variety of ailments. It’s worked wonders for people suffering from chronic pain, and helped speed the healing of wounds – light therapy has even helped some people regrow their hair. But recent advances have uncovered a powerful new benefit – the reduction of fat.
The secret behind this amazing benefit is the type of light being used – specifically, the light emitted at wavelengths of 635 nanometers (NM) and 880 nm. When exposed to these exact wavelengths, something incredible happens to fat cells. They release 99 percent of their fat.
At the Dr. Gil Center, we use a special type of light therapy known as the Contour Light system. What makes our system different is the type of pads we use. These pads have a unique reflective coating that directs light directly into the tissues. There’s no other system like this available. The coating multiplies the amount of energy, producing previously unimaginable results in the process.
As a bonus, we also offer the Omnilux light therapy system for those who want more youthful looking facial skin. Omnilux increases the production of elastin and collagen, two substances that help to tighten skin – and help you look younger in the process.
Contour Light System and FAQ’s
What, exactly, is this the Contour Light?
In a nutshell, this is what’s known as an LED, or light emitting diode, system. It produces infrared as well as red light. Have you ever used a heating pad? Well, the pads used to transfer that light into the body are very similar. They’re soft and flexible, and they’re also fairly large. A patient can either lie down on a pad, or they can have it placed on top of them. Either way, there will be no type of discomfort involved whatsoever.
Why is 635 NM light so important?
This is the wavelength of the light that the LED system produces. Research shows that light along the mid-600 nm portion of the spectrum stimulates fat cells in a way that make them empty their contents.
During a Contour Light session, it usually takes about 15 minutes for the fat to start to turn to liquid. Then, at the 18-minute mark, the cell opens up. The liquid fat then leaves the cell and heads toward the liver, ultimately leaving the body completely through urine.
What can I expect during a session?
When you come into our center, you’ll lie on a comfortable bed. The therapist will then place the pads on certain areas of your body. The pads are safe for any area, such as the back, thighs, your hips and waist, as well as your neck, face and the upper portions of your arms.
The only thing you’ll feel will be a sensation of warmth – there will be no discomfort, and no pain. You can sleep, check out your phone or tablet, or read a book.
Here’s a quick look at what will happen when you come into our center for Contour Light therapy:
- Four large pads, each measuring 28 inches by 12 inches, will be placed on your skin.
- A comfortable, adjustable strap will hold the pads in place.
- Each session will last about 45 minutes.
- Once you’re finished, it’s highly recommended that you follow the exercise protocols your therapist will provide. This will help create a demand for energy, putting the released fat “to work,” so to speak.
How many times will I have to go into your office, and how long will it take to tell whether or not the therapy is working?
Patients will typically go through anywhere from 12 to 20 sessions, which are scheduled either every other day or every three days – whatever the therapist recommends. While some patients start to see results as soon as the first session, most will start to notice a difference after two or three.
The results you see will depend a lot on your willingness to commit to eating a healthy diet and exercising. Your results could last a very long time if you do commit.
Are there any medical conditions that will disqualify me from Contour Light therapy?
As long as you don’t have any issues with being able to urinate on a regular basis, Contour Light will be completely safe. However, you should talk to your doctor before you make any changes to your lifestyle, such as starting an exercise program or going on a diet.
Is Contour Light therapy safe?
While you should not look directly at the light for a long time, the therapy is safe. You won’t have to worry about suffering any sort of burn.
I’ve heard that this kind of therapy can raise your cholesterol and/or triglyceride levels. Is that true?
Absolutely not. No studies of any kind have shown that exposure to 635 nm light will increase triglycerides or cholesterol. Our therapy is not only safe, it’s also approved by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA).
What if I’ve been diagnosed as being clinically obese? Will this type of therapy still work?
You can see benefits from Contour Light therapy if you’re clinically obese.
How do I get the most out of my therapy sessions?
As stated earlier, you’ll need to eat healthy and exercise in order to achieve long-term results. We’ll give you some suggestions as far as diet, water consumption and exercise are concerned. If you have a commitment to improving the way you look, you’ll have an easy time with the guidelines we provide.
Can I drink alcohol while I’m undergoing therapy?
We strongly advise against it. The reasons are that you have to stay hydrated throughout your program, and alcohol use can lead to dehydration. Also, alcohol has a lot of calories – and that will go against the dietary protocols we provide. Finally, when the liver has to work to process alcohol, that takes away its ability to release fat so it can be eliminated from your body through urine.
How will I know the therapy is successful?
We will analyze your body fat percentage, your amount of lean muscle, and take other measurements to show you how you’re progressing.
Are there other benefits of Contour Light besides weight loss?
Yes. There are actually a lot of benefits. Here are just a few.
- Tightening of facial skin, giving you a younger appearance
- Relief from pain due to arthritis, rheumatoid arthritis and other joint-related issues
- Hair growth
- Healing from wounds, such as those caused by a recent surgery
- Relief from symptoms associated with neuropathy
